DESCRIZIONE: L’Hibiscus syriacus è un arbusto a foglia caduca, prezioso per i giardinieri poiché fiorisce generosamente in piena estate, quando molte altre piante sono in riposo. I suoi fiori a forma di campana, con un prominente pistillo centrale, si declinano in sfumature che vanno dal bianco, al rosa, fino al viola e al blu. Una curiosità affascinante: nonostante il nome “syriacus”, la pianta è in realtà asiatica ed è il fiore nazionale della Corea del Sud, dove il suo nome Mugunghwa significa “fiore dell’eternità” o “fiore inesauribile”.

DESCRIPTION: Hibiscus syriacus is a deciduous shrub, highly prized by gardeners because it blooms generously in midsummer, when many other plants are resting. Its bell-shaped flowers, with a prominent central pistil, come in shades ranging from white and pink to purple and blue. A fascinating fact: despite the name “syriacus”, the plant is actually Asian and is the national flower of South Korea, where its name Mugunghwa translates to “flower of eternity” or “inexhaustible flower.”
