DESCRIZIONE: La Bauhinia purpurea è un albero deciduo di piccole e medie dimensioni che cresce fino a 5,2 m di altezza. Le foglie sono lunghe e larghe 10–20 centimetri, arrotondate e bilobate alla base e all’apice. I fiori sono vistosi, rosa e profumati, con cinque petali. Il frutto è un baccello lungo 30 cm, contenente da 12 a 16 semi. Le foglie sono alterne.

DESCRIPTION: Bauhinia purpurea is a small and medium-sized deciduous tree that grows up to 5.2 m tall. The leaves are long and 10-20 cm wide, rounded and bilobed at the base and at the apex. The flowers are showy, pink and fragrant, with five petals. The fruit is a pod 30 cm long, containing 12 to 16 seeds. The leaves are alternate.
